Dashboard
Visitor Intelligence
What is the Dashboard?
The Dashboard — titled "Visitor Intelligence" in the app — is the first screen you see when you log in. It gives you a live, real-time view of every visitor on your website right now, along with today's performance across leads, conversions, traffic sources, auto-engage, and engagement. A green "Live" indicator in the top-right confirms all data is updating in real time.
Navigation Tabs
| Overview | High-level summary cards and the Activity Timeline chart. Your starting point every day. |
| Hot Leads | Ranked list of your highest-intent visitors with location, source, and lead score. |
| Conversions | Log of every visitor who converted — via chat, call, or booking. |
| Traffic Sources | Breakdown of where visitors came from: Paid, Direct, Facebook Ads, Organic, etc. |
| Auto Engage | Performance of your Auto Engage messages — shown, responded, and response rate. |
| Engagement | Detail on Chat, Video Call, and Voice Call sessions including handoffs and Handoff Timeline. |
Overview Tab — Top Row Cards
Summary Statistics Bar
| Engagement Rate | Percentage of visitors who engaged with the widget in any way (e.g., 25.6%). |
| Response Rate | Percentage of Auto Engage messages that received a visitor response (e.g., 0.0%). |
| Conversions | Raw count of total conversions for the selected period. |
Activity Timeline Chart
A smooth line chart plotting three metrics across the full day. Visitors (teal line) shows total sessions — typically the tallest peak. Engagements (orange line) shows widget interactions. Conversations (purple line) shows active chat and call conversations. Traffic spikes show campaign bursts; if Engagements stay flat when Visitors spike, your widget copy needs work.
Hot Leads Tab
Shows a ranked list of your highest-scoring visitors. Each card shows: visitor name or 'Anonymous Visitor', location (city/country), traffic source tag, campaign ID tag for paid sources, a green lead score progress bar (e.g., 75), and a View button to open their full profile and session recording. Total lead count shown top-right (e.g., '7 leads').
Conversions Tab
| Date | Exact date and time of conversion (e.g., Mar 25, 1:42 PM). |
| Contact | Visitor name and email address if identified. |
| Type | Chat (blue badge) or Call (green badge). |
| Page | URL where the conversion happened. |
| Actions | Icons to open the Chat transcript or replay the Session recording. |
Traffic Sources Tab
| Source Name + Tags | Source name with associated domains and campaign ID tags. |
| Visitors | Total visitors from this source (e.g., Paid: 97, Direct: 95, Facebook: 32, Organic: 11). |
| Identified | How many visitors from this source were identified by name or email. |
| Engaged | How many interacted with the widget. |
| Rate | Conversion rate % per source (e.g., Direct: 8.4%, Paid: 1.0%). |
Auto Engage Tab
Shows performance of every Auto Engage message. Each card shows: the exact message text, Shown count, Responded count, Rate %, and Best Source page. Messages with 100% rate were shown once and responded to. Messages with 0% need copy or timing adjustment.
Engagement Tab
| Chat | Sessions, Bookings, and Handoffs from text conversations. |
| Video Calls | Sessions, Avg Duration (e.g., 2m 14s), Bookings, Handoffs. |
| Voice Calls | Sessions, Avg Duration (e.g., 13s), Bookings, Handoffs. |
| Video Preview Unmutes | Visitors who unmuted the greeting video — a strong intent signal. Shows unique visitors and total unmute actions. |
| Handoff Timeline | Chronological feed of every AI-to-human handoff: visitor name, assigned team member, message count, time, and Chat/Session action buttons. |
Page Performance
Shows which pages receive the most visitor attention. Columns: Page Title + URL, Visitors count, and Avg Time on page. High avg time on the Pricing page (e.g., 28m 51s) signals strong buying intent. Default shows 10 pages — click 'Show All (50)' for the complete list.

Widget & Call Settings
Install, Design & Configure Your Widget
What is the Widget?
The Widget is the interactive window that appears on your website — usually in the bottom-right corner. It's how visitors connect with you via text chat, audio call, or video call without leaving your website. Think of it like a friendly assistant stationed at the entrance of your digital storefront.
Installation — One-Time Setup
| Direct Code | Copy the JavaScript snippet and paste it into your website's tag. |
| GTM Install | Add the Knock Knock App tag through Google Tag Manager. No code editing required. |
| WordPress Plugin | Install the official Knock Knock App plugin from the WordPress plugin directory. |
Display Settings
| Widget Visibility | Master on/off toggle. Turn OFF when closed, turn ON to make it live. |
| Default Greeting Video | Choose a preset video or upload your own (recommended: 10–30 seconds, friendly and direct). |
| Online Heading | Main text shown when you're available. E.g., 'Chat with us now!' |
| Online Sub Heading | Supporting text. E.g., 'Average response: under 1 minute.' |
| Offline Heading | Shown when offline. E.g., 'We're currently away.' |
| Offline Sub Heading | Invite visitors to leave a message. E.g., 'We'll reply within 2 hours.' |
| Widget Style | Ultimate, Smart, Mini, Bubble, or Bar — choose per device (desktop/mobile). |
| Widget Position | Bottom Right (recommended) or Bottom Left. |
Color Presets
Communication Options
| Video Calls | Face-to-face conversations in the browser. Toggle ON or OFF. |
| Audio Calls | Voice-only calls — no camera required. Toggle ON or OFF. |
| Live Chat | Text messaging. The simplest and most common option. Toggle ON or OFF. |
Page Rules — Advanced Personalisation
Page Rules let you show different widget messages, videos, and headings on different pages. Go to Settings → Widget → Rules tab → Toggle ON 'Page-Specific Content' → New Page Rule. Set a Page URL, optional custom video, and Online/Offline headings per page. Example: Pricing page shows 'Questions about our pricing?' — far more relevant than a generic greeting.
Call Settings — Who Answers First
| AI Answers First | AI greets and qualifies every caller. Transfers to you when appropriate. Best for high call volume. |
| You Answer First | Calls ring your phone directly. AI only steps in if you don't answer. Best for important clients. |
| Split Handling | Known clients ring your phone; new leads go to AI first. Best of both worlds. |
Where Calls Reach You
| Phone Call | Knock Knock App calls your actual mobile or office number. |
| SMS / Text | Sends a text with caller info so you can decide whether to call back. |
| Sends a detailed email with the call transcript or voicemail. | |
| Web Portal | Shows incoming calls in your Knock Knock App dashboard. |

AI Agents
Automated Chat, Call & Proactive Engagement
What is AI Agents?
AI Agents are your 24/7 digital team members. They handle repetitive, time-consuming customer interactions automatically — qualifying leads, answering questions, booking appointments, and routing enquiries — so your human team can focus on closing deals.
Three Agent Types
| Chat Agent | Handles all text-based conversations through the widget. Answers questions, qualifies leads, collects contact details automatically. |
| Call Agent | Answers incoming voice and video calls, greets callers, qualifies them, and routes or takes messages. |
| Auto Connect Agent | Proactively invites high-intent visitors to a live call or chat — feels like the website owner personally reaching out. The most powerful conversion tool. |
Auto Connect Agent — How It Works
Auto Connect — Chat Mode vs Call Mode
| Chat Mode | Hook message sent as a chat prompt with a simple [Yes] / [No thanks] option. Lower friction, easy to respond to. |
| Call Mode | Same hook message appears alongside a call invitation. Visitor can accept (connects to human or AI) or decline (widget pivots to chat automatically). |
| Human First Routing | Call accepted → connects instantly to a live team member. Zero AI involvement. Highest-conversion option when team is available. |
| AI to Human Routing | Call accepted → AI picks up first, qualifies the visitor, then hands off to a human with full context and a warm introduction. |
| After Hours | If no human available, AI handles the full call, gathers details, and books a callback for the next day. |
| Declined Call | Widget automatically pivots to chat — follow-up message sent. No engagement opportunity is lost. |
Configuring Your AI Agent
| AI Engine | GPT-4o Mini (fast, 95% of use cases) or GPT-4o Turbo (faster, stronger reasoning for complex flows). |
| Agent Name | Give your AI a personality (e.g., 'Alex — Sales Assistant'). |
| Quick Mode | Pre-built templates, set up in minutes. |
| Advanced Mode | Full control over instructions for expert users. |
| Agent Instructions | Tell the AI exactly how to behave in plain English — no coding required. |
| Routing | AI Only (handles everything) or AI to Human (transfers when needed). |
| Chat Interface | Agent photo, name, widget colours, and welcome message. |
